The Regional Business Forum aimed to bring together Renewable Energy stakeholders and financing institutions within the ASEAN to share experiences on Renewable Energy project financing and investments, and learn from successful strategies and approaches that have been demonstrated in the region as well as in Europe. It was the venue for some of the studies conducted under the project to be shared to a wider audience, such as the assessment of RE potential and policies in the ASEAN region and the study of European experiences in financing and developing renewable energy projects. The regional forum was also envisioned to be the venue for the three local beneficiary banks (Land Bank of the Philippines, Equitable PCI Bank and First Metro Investment Corporation) to share their enhanced realization and appreciation of the potentials for RE lending as well as the need to provide financing to bring actual projects on the ground. Their experiences were meant to encourage other local financing institutions who were invited to the forum, also to support the RE industry.
The forum was attended by key local RE stakeholders in the Philippines and invited RE players from around the region. Renewable Energy project developers, government planners, representatives of financing institutions, members of the academe, and members of the international community participated in the whole-day forum on renewable energy finance.
