Site Visits
The lectures of the training program were complemented by visits to operational Renewable Energy facilities in the Philippines to increase appreciation of the technology and its applications.
The following sites were visited:
- Hydropower - PHILPODECO Mini-hydropower plant in Laguna (South of Manila)
- Geothermal - PNOC's Palinpinon Geothermal Production Field in Negros Oriental (Visayas)
- Solar - PNOC's Solar Home System Distribution Project site in Infanta, Quezon (Northest of Manila)
- Wind - Northwind 25MW wind farm, Bangui Bay, Ilocos Norte (Northern Luzon)
- Biomass - Biomass-fired dryers used in the Sorongan Rice Mill in Davao (Mindanao)
